I stayed off this thread since I have not shot them in a RUM. We have shot the 230 OTM Hybrids in my sons 300 win. The rifle has always prior been shot with 210 Hunting VLD's. Here are some interesting umbers. Same rifle and both loads safe but close to max. 210 VLD @ 2916 muzzle velocity 230 OTM Hybrid @ 2775 Muzzle velocity At 1000 yards the 230 has caught the 210 in velocity but the 230 carries 130 lbs more energy. The 230's are awesome in the wind bucking dept. and have done a superb job on game, elk x2 , deer at almost 900 yards, antelope at 335, 590 and 738. all one shot hits and no tracking. I have just recently been talking a fried through development with the 230's in an acumark 30-378 I sold him. This rifle with has been sending 210 VLD's for years and has taken tons of game, Litterly. The rifle has been given the name "Bang Flop" for a reason. That is it in my signature with the bull. Initial tseting shows great accuracy with the 230's in the 30-378 and very respectable velocities in the 2950 fps range with a very safe load of H-1000. It sees in this big case the 230's are a good fit and maybe more efficent than a 210 bullet as far as velocity. Couple that with the 230's BC of .711 and it is to be admired in any hunting situation especially long range. I would expect similar results from a 300 Rum and also a little longer throat life with the 230's. also all testing we have done has been with 1 in 10 twist tubes. Jeff
