So during this challenging time to find reloading supplies, i decided to tinker with the 223 vanguard 1-12 twist for a while. i loaded rounds with 50, 53, 55, and 60 grain v max all using 3031. The accuracy node with all bullets came in at the same powder charge with the 60 grainers producing the best groups. 5/8 inch at 120 yards. i thought this was interesting. just curious to here if others have found this to be true.

It does happen, but not common. My 300 H&H shoots several different bullets (brands & types) to the same point of aim at 100 yards.

It only means 3031 worked best for your 60gr bullets.
Other powders could be better for the other bullets.
But lacking powders, and having different bullets led you this way.
Pretty good move

yea, i see what your saying. this doesnt indicate that the 60s are optimal, but rather that the combination worked well. just for kicks, im gonna run a forgotten stash of 4198 with the lighter bullets and see what it does. thanks for the post, it made me think...
