how far would you take a kill shot with a 222rem bdl heavy vermin barrel.

Depends on the load and game.

I have shot a number of Sika deer and Fallow deer with my Sako .222 loaded with 63gn Sierra bullets at a MV of 3000fps. The furtherest was over 350 yards.

Shot a few other things at further distances with 60gn Hornady HP bullets at same MV.

Lighter bullets are no good for long range out of the .222 and heavier bullets either don't have enough MV or don't stabilise well.

Depends on the size of the game. A fella here, a couple of years ago, took a 1k rock chuck with a 22 Hornet.

i have three. i love them .but i have larger rounds for big stuff far away. crows at 350 yards.
