I was wanting to shoot 1-8 twist with the heavier bullets. Was wanting everyone's thoughts / recommendations. I currently have a swift and love it but it is set up for the 55 gr bullets. I was hoping to shoot 70-85gr bullets in the new rifle. Does anyone have experience shooting the heavier gr bullets out of a 220 Swift? I am considering 22-6mm (224 TTH) instead due to velocities but I like the ease of using just factory 220 Swift brass instead of having to form brass from 6MM. Your thoughts?

I have the same 220 SWIFT that you have which is a tac driver. I wanted to do what you are trying to do. I settled on building a 6MM NORMA BR. with a BRUX 1 in 8" twist 26" heavy barrel. The best 5 shot group using Berger 105 grain VLDs is .084" at 100 yds and .375" at 200 yds.

I put a Vortex 6-24x50mm PST FFP MOA scope with a Custom Turret from Vortex. Here is a target that I shot at 400 yds. I only shot 3 times because I wanted to see if I hit the target.

PS: You can get 6mm Norma BR. Lapua brass from a lot of places. No need to turn necks. Most have a .272 neck, but I had mine be .271.

I agree the 24's are awesome for sure! I have two 243 AI's and one 6mm-284 and. Shoot the 105 VLD's through two of them and they also shoot bugholes. I was just wanting a 22 cal long range varminter. I was looking for something that would run 75's around 3400 fps. I already have a Rock 22 cal 1-8 twist 29" long that I am dying to chamber and use! :D

Thanks again for the info!!
