Hey fellas just started reloading for my new .22 creed build. 20" proof 1-8" trying out some 75 eld-m's w/ h4350 at the moment. Haven't seen anything very promising so far with this combo but it's only had 50 rds through it as of now so hoping maybe barrel will settle in on a load before too long. Any one had much luck with this combo in a short barrel? Most of the data I've found online seems to be from guys shooting heavier bullets(80-90gr)in longer barrels. I've seen many using some other powders and bullets but being as I've got a couple boxes of 75gr and plenty of h4350 I'm hoping this combo will shoot with good velocity. Otherwise it's gonna be a wild goose chase finding other components. Anyways any first hand experience would be appreciated thanks.

Saw a couple guys doing the same. Bet that things scooting may be something I look into if these don't end up shooting well.

Nice I've got plenty of Varget so I may have to get my hands on some of those. How many grains of powder was your starting load?

Know it's hard to get things now but if you ve got any 7828, 4831, R23 or R26 give those a try. We ve had good luck with all those in 22-250 AI s and 22 CM with 75 and heavier billets. 3400-3500 FPS s/b no problem without pushing it.

Kissin cousins... slightly larger at neck, .005, and different shoulder angle. Only 1 - 1.5 grs difference in capacity.

Isnt the 22creed just a 22-250ai?
Not a lot of substantial difference. The Creedmoor does have a slightly higher case capacity. The real benefit, however, is in case prep. Instead for fireforming up for the AI, all that is required is a single pass to neck down....or you can buy new, ready to load .22 Creedmoor brass from a couple of sources.

I have a couple of Ackley guns in other chamberings, and the Creed is just easier.

+1 for RL-23. My 22-250 AI pushes the 80 gr ELDM to 3300+ with RL-23. Haven't tried any 75s yet, but H4350 is a good choice.

Here's a pretty good thread with lots of data. As always, start low and work up:

Have a few buddies who may have some R26 and R23 I may be able to do some trading with so may try that. So far I've loaded from 39gr-41.8gr in .2 increments. Had some decent groups around 40gr. At 41.6 was seeing some slight ejector ring marking but nothing crazy they were running around 3300-3350 FPS. Hoping I've got a little more cushion to get them in the ballpark of 3500 if I can with only a 20" bbl before I get into to much pressure.

You ll see some more velocity with either R23 or R26 over H4350.... just higher energy content and double base powder. 20" barrel will lose 100-125 FPS over 24" if loading to comparable pressures. I d still think 3400 FPS with 75 s is within reason.

Good up in pressure/load; good luck.

Thanks yeah thinking 3400 ish is probably gonna be around where I end up with the shorter barrel before pressure gets higher than I'd like.
