.22 Creedmoor, anyone?

PAC NOR did my 22 Creedmoor barrel and it shoots 80 gr. Nosler CC and 80.5 gr. Berger Fullbore equally great. However, I went with the Nosler's because of availability. I'm using H-4350 which gives me a 10 shot, (Magneto Sporter) average of 3500 fps out of a 1:8 finished t 28". I've never had luck with Nosler's but, this barrel just loves them.

I'm shooting nosler 69 custom competition bullets out of my 223 AI.... they shoot great also. I've had similar experience to you in that I've had trouble shooting noslers in the past. But these were on a super sale so I got 500.

I'm having loads of fun with this one, working on 75gr Amax for coyotes and see what else jumps out in front of it.

bullet rpm was brought to my attention on another forum.
wow, so as an example: 80gr @ 3400fps in a 1:7 is at 349,000 rpm!

1:7.7 would be at 317,000rpm
1:8 would be at 306,000rpm

that right there makes me think i will go with either a 1:7.7 or 1:8

running the ballistics...... an 80gr eldm is what i will focus on. anything above 3400fps will be a bonus to me.

(i used to have a 6ai with a 1:10twist that i shot 95gr bergers in just fine and that had only a 1.25 stability factor on the berger calculator)

So if I go with a1:8 twist, how long of a barrel is needed to push the 80s to 3400fps? 23" work? Or should I go 24"?

23inch should get you to 3400 with the right powder but that's as short as I would try if 3400 is your goal.

NOTE: THESE ARE NOT MY OWN RESULTS, I AM SIMPLY POSTING FROM A FACEBOOK GROUP FOR 22 CREEDMOOR, A GENTLEMAN WAS GENEROUS ENOUGH TO POST HIS FINDINGS.

Did you hit pressure on the RL16 at 41.4?

No high pressure signs with any load except an ejector mark on the highest IMR 4955 load

What where the Extreme spreads?

Varied from below 10, to 40-50 fps on 3 shots

All these loads were in virgin brass. Now that the batch is all formed, I will anneal, bump shoulder .002", trim, uniform pockets and flash holes, then get more serious about load development. ES will improve I am sure, and I may try a magnum primer too to compare results

I just loaded some up with RL16.... the 75eldx, 77 tmk, 80.5. Berger. I actually used cci 450 for all of them. Previously was using gm205m. Wondering if the magnum primers will have much of an effect.

I've found the RL powders really like magnum primers
