22 Creedmoor and 88gr ELD-M Data

Big Stick on the Fire forums has posted some info on 22CR but it'd be like pulling teeth to get a straight answer from him. He's gotten good results with the 88s.

I've had a interesting go with my 22 creedmoor and the 88gr Hornady eldm. I used RL26 almost exclusively and found it to be a little bit touchy. The powder seemed to build up pressure for no apparent reason. I had a great .25 moa load at 41 gr but after about 50rds the velocity jumped 100fps and the bolt started getting sticky and I had to drop the load a full grain. It kept doing that to me and I stopped shooting it because of that. I did try h4350 in a ladder test and it seemed to have promising results. I don't trust RL26 anymore because of this. Others have experienced the same thing saying it builds up a carbon ring in the barrel. I can't confirm that, but it was continually going up in pressure.
Sounds like a carbon ring.

You can use 22/250 AI data and start with the typical 10% below max and work up. H4350, H4831SC, 4831, etc have worked well for years for me, but the past few years, I switched to 7828SSC for heavy 80-90 loads. I found I could safely increase velocity from my 26 inch barrels by another 100fps or so. YMMV

The heavies make nice deer/antelope takers, and the 62gr TBBC and 75gr GD bullets have worked spectacular on deer at shorter distances.

RL-23 and the 88 ELDM have given me great results from my 22-250 AI.

Still working on burning out my 22-250 AI barrel before spinning on my 22 Creed prefit. The 88 ELDM continues to impress. It's scooting along comfortably at 3150 out of my 22" 1:8 Xcaliber barrel. 40.3 gr of RL-23.

This was a 3 shot group at 340 yards a couple weeks back while out in WY:

Im sure I'll be able to push it a little harder with the 22 Creed but for now, it's working great. May try RL-26 to see how it works with the 88s as well. These hotrod 22s are a lot of fun!
