Hello all, I am currently building my first 22 Creedmoor and plan on shooting the 88gr ELD-M from Hornady. The gun is going to wear a 24 inch 1-7 twist criterion barrel. I tried contacting Hornady for starting load data but was told they simply have no data for the 22 Creed. I currently have H-1000, H4831SC,and Retumbo on hand, as well as federal 210-m primers and virgin Hornady 22 Creed brass. Any help would be appreciated, and I know pressures from rifle to rifle vary. Thanks!

Yes sir. It's what I've done with 22 Dasher and 22x47L.

Here's my friends load. No suppressor and work up from 39gr

22CM alpha brass
40gr H4350
Cci450
80.5 Berger .015" jump

Dangerous pressure at 43gr

Case capacity very similar to 22-250 AI. We re seeing about a half grain to grain more in 22 CM.

Powders between H4350 and H1000 should provide a winner. Start low and work up. We re seeing around 2 grs less powder with 88 s vs 80 s.

Impressive cartridge.

This is where I'd start. To take it one step farther I've been told to use 220 swift info to load the 22-250ai.

I don't have my book with me at work. I ran a pile of loads through my 22creed. I wouldn't recommend h1000. Accuracy was good but there was no speed with it. I run a 28in 7 twist barrel on mine. A full case of h1000 was around 3350 i believe and i think that was around 46grs. H4350 is my go to powder on all 4 of my creedmoor. 22, 6mm and 2 6.5s. 40-42grs will probably be your sweet spot. 88s in mine were running 3550fps. I run 77gr Sierra TMKs at 3640fps under 1/2 moa. TMKs shoot good in all rifles I've tried. Eld-x & m's shoot good in most but some guns hate them. My 22creed is one of them. I'd say try your 4831sc or pick up some h4350. H1000 was very slow in my long barreled medium capacity cased rifles. Big magnums it's my go to powder.

Thanks Adam, H4350 is fairly available where I am so I'll give it a try. I appreciate the info

I've had a interesting go with my 22 creedmoor and the 88gr Hornady eldm. I used RL26 almost exclusively and found it to be a little bit touchy. The powder seemed to build up pressure for no apparent reason. I had a great .25 moa load at 41 gr but after about 50rds the velocity jumped 100fps and the bolt started getting sticky and I had to drop the load a full grain. It kept doing that to me and I stopped shooting it because of that. I did try h4350 in a ladder test and it seemed to have promising results. I don't trust RL26 anymore because of this. Others have experienced the same thing saying it builds up a carbon ring in the barrel. I can't confirm that, but it was continually going up in pressure.
