22-250 heavies 75+gr non AI

33.3 to 33.6 gr R15 pushing a 75gr Amax routinely groups in the .3s to .4s for me. Around 3240fps and hammered a Whitetail buck for me at 410 yards. Warm load so work up cautiously.

36.6 grs IMR4831 with 80 grain Berger Bldg or 80 gr MK ... 3150 fps and 3/8-1/2" groups. It's Sierra accuracy load.

I would be very careful not to use those 75 A max bullets on big game at closer ranges.
I've shot two coyotes with the 75 A Max from my
22-250 between 200-300 yards and in both cases the bullet exploded and didn't penetrate through the shoulder.
I had to put them both down at close range,
In my opinion these are ethically appropriate for varmints only.
The heavy 6.5 and 7mm A max and Eldm's are a different story

Tag. I'm going to get a remage barrel for my current 22-250 with a torched barrel, 8 twist and 250 or 250 AI, can't decide. Want to shoot the eld-m for long range varmint killin. Will be a heavy gun, 16+ lbs.

Im running 32.7g XBR with the Berger 75g. 26" tube @ 3340fps with a 9 twist.. I have over 50 kills on Axis does from 150 to 750 yards with them. Love them

The high left shot was my fouling shot the other group is 5 shots.

I shoot 82gr bergers out of my 22-250 with 34.5 h4350 lapua brass. Berger says this will not shoot in my gun, but my rifle failed to get that note.

Thanks for the replies keep them coming I have a bunch of 80 gr Amax that I bought for a 223 project before I realized I could not drive them fast enough to get the benefit of them I hope to start with those and h4350 in Lapua brass I also have reloader 16 and 17 to work with

Waking up an old Thread again, im new to the forum!

Was looking for some data on ranges out to 400-500ish yds with the 75gr ELDMs and came across this thread. so First off, I am from South africa and shoot a savage mod12 22250 with 9" twist, I load 36.5gr of S365 (our local proppelant, alot like IMR4350) and het the ELDMs up to 3400fps. I have had only success with the 75gr eldm, Shot an Eland recently and the massive piece of meat dropped in her tracks! In total i have shot 11 bucks ranging from impala to Blouwildebees and all of them dropped on the spot, never went further than 200yds though. I want to see how far i Can get a decent grouping out of this combination.
