204 twist rate

I'm fixing to order a 204 ar and i'm trying to figure out which barrel to get

one is a shilen 1/9 or a sabre defence 1/12

both are 24 inch heavy barreled varmints

i plan to use hornady 32 grain v max to start and then go to midsouth 34 grain varmint nightmare bullets

so what twist rates do you suggest?

i do plan to use the lighter bullets to start with but might end up using the 40 grain

The 12twist is great for the 32grains . It also works for
me with 39gr blitzkings in my savage

Everyone I know uses the 12" twist. I shoot the 39gr BlitzKing, and they work great with this twist (also the 40gr vmax). I think the 9" twist is for the heavier Berger bullets.

I can't say for certain, but I suspect that the 9" twist might spin those 32gr bullets apart when you load them around 4100 fps.
