Anyone done much experimenting with any of the hammers in a 204 Ruger? Particularly the 31gr, considering ordering some to work up a load before fall, would appreciate hearing some recommendations on a powder/loads to start with. Have always used 10x with 32gr vmax in the past. Main use would be coyotes

here ya go sir! GOD made the 204 for coyotes

204 Ruger
31 gr HH
26" T/C custom shop full bull 1:12"
New Norma brass neck tension set at .002"
Fed 205M
COAL 2.26" (.020" from jam)
IMR 8208 XBR
27.7 gr
4079 fps ES 18 SD 7 Grp .226" @ 100

I decided to start load development on this bullet with seating depth for a change and selected a suitable powder and split the difference between Hodgdon's starting and max charge for Berger's 30 grain FB. Things could not have gone better with all test loads (-.010" through -.050") putting three shots insider 1/2 moa. Steve and Brian hit a home run on this bullet as yet another sub 1/4 moa load developed in 15 shots or less. It is not like me to walk away with more speed sitting on the table, but its time to let the red mist fly and of course, order more bullets.

I use 10x in my 223 (2 loads), 243 (1 load), & 6.5 Grendel (2 loads).

When I shot the 204 & the 22-250, I used 10x for all the loads. GREAT POWDER...A STAPLE ON MY RELOADING BENCH!
