The past 6 or 7 years i've dealt with some health issues that keep me from hunting and fishing as much as i like. Some stretches without doing either for over a year. Due to an 5 month physical therapy program i completed late last year, i got out on the water more this year than the past 7 combined.
No giant's were caught (had some on, but those are always the ones that get off) but i caught more fish and more quality 3lb+ fish than ever. And since one of my local lakes has a power plant on it, the fishing doesn't stop once winter rolls around. So here's a few pics from this year.

a fish caught is a good day of fishing. even got my wife hooked on fishing

this past year, i learned that saltwater fishing, be in inlets or on the ocean is way more fun than fresh water fishing. with her being stationed near places were we can go saltwater fishing, well makes it a lot easier and i'm very humble to have that opportunity

Ive never been saltwater fishing but have always been interested in going after redfish and tarpon.

So the other day me and my dad went for the first trip of the year, it was 20 degrees and blowing 15-20, we both have serious issues lol. Every cast you had to dunk your rod in the water due to ice buildup in the guides, even one if my reels locked up due to ice. The big girls are supposed to come out and play on this lake during cold snaps when they pump more hot water out of the power plant, but they didn't show up. We ended up with 15 and nothing over 4 pounds, we had more picture worthy fish but we didn't feel like taking off our gloves to take the pics.
