The entrance is a little lower directly across, the elk had no response to the impact of the shot. I was spotting the shot and saw the impact and it didnt hit any bone. The knife works very well since I use the rifle to do the killing, Buck $15 with two carbon blades.

My son said 'WOW' , and he wasn't talking about the elk. Guess he's looking for a gal that looks like your daughter and hunts too.
