.200g Hornady ELD-X precision hunter ammo

Dang, I hope mine hold up. I leave Wednesday morning to Montana with my 7mm Rem mag with 162 ELDx. I've shot several hogs and a couple of deer here at home and they dropped where they stood. Haven't recovered a bullet yet. But elk are a lot bigger then our deer. Hogs can be tough too and I've not had a problem blowing through them out to 400 but still not an elk. Can't wait to get out there though and send one to the boiler room.

Did you ever get a chance to shoot an elk? I was looking at using the 162s in my 7mmrm on elk in montana too!

How did your hunt go in Montana for elk with the Hornady ELD-X bullet out of your 7mm?

I killed a muley. No bull but would definitely love to go in there again. Muley feel where he stood. I think it did a good job. Caliber entry and good exit.

I harvested the elk in the picture. 185 yards, not that far, but my first. With the 300 win 200 ELDX and 74 gr of H1000. He took a step and the guide said shoot again. He reared up on his back legs and dropped in the spot. Both bullets recovered, 1 shot was through the lungs, the other was through the heart, completely destroying the heart, (****). The 2 recovered bullets weight 84 and 89 grains.
