title says it all
current scope is a celestron 22-67x 100mm ed glass.
not cheap but not top end
it works fine at 1000 but was not happy at 2k.
this is for matches, not hunting not packing in and out
thanks

I like looking with both eyes at that distance. BTX or Kowa Highlanders. The Kowa's can use different power eyepieces. I have 20, 30 and 50 power for my set. I use the BTX's when pack hunting. My buddy has a set of Highlanders for sale.

Meopta MeoStar S2 82 HD Angled Scope with a 20-70 eye pc is about $2500 with a good rep
anyone use one ?
comments ?
I have one. Great spotter for the money. I have glassed up pronghorn at 6 miles. I couldn't tell you a single thing about them other than they were pronghorn, but I could see them. I routinely glass up elk and mule deer at 2-3 miles. And can tell if they are something I want to get a closer look at.

Spotting hits around a clay pigeon at 2000 could prove more difficult unless you are shooting a cannon or on a dry dusty hillside.

This bull is at 1821 yards. Through the scope with a hand held cell phone.

Not sure on exactly how far this bull was, but somewhere right about 2 miles according to a map. Again, with a hand held cell phone. I really need to get a phone mount.

This bull was at 1660ish yards. Spotter was not on full power.

Don't try to reinvent the wheel. If you have the money, Leica or Swaro are the optics to buy. Not cheap but they are the best there is. To see a Clay and hits at 2000 yards you are going to need at least 80X magnification maybe even 100, and at that magnification the clay is going to need to be out on a real good background. On top of that, there are not going to be very many days when the conditions are going to allow you to see that small a target that far away.

You say this is strictly for target shooting and not hunting. For that type of shooting you are far better off with a remote camera system. It will work 100% of the time and you can do slow motion replay, etc to review the shots.

Another vote for the Meopta S2, which is also the Nightforce spotter and Cabelas Euro Instinct line. I have heard that the 20-70x eyepiece isn't as clear as the 20-60x but I have the 20-60 and have not compared the two.
Here is a Cabelas for $900, note it says "Made in Czech Republic" at the bottom of the tripod mount.

A set of Big Eyes for this scope would be the ticket;

The Kowa TSN 880 series with their 1.6x extender will get you to almost 100x and they have a full line of digiscoping accessories or go with the Novagrade Double Gripper as a universal phone mount, very secure.

The 20-60x80 is actually the lower end MeoPro, which is still a great scope. The 20-70x82 is the higher end MeoStar S2.
