Dedicated is right. 28 this morning here in Texas. Went out to fire form more of my 338 NM IM. ( Christmas present ). 33 when I got to shoot. Knee caps jumping, nose dripping. I'm not cold tough. First five at 100. Last 3 at 496. 4" head.
Finally got a chance to get to the range. My 7mm RM was completely clean, and the shooter was completely cold after not being behind the trigger for a while. Cold clean bore shot was low and left (1st pic), the next 4 grouped (2nd pic). This was with some factory federal blue box 150 gr ammo I had laying around.

3rd pic is 3 shots of a 140 gr vld load

and the last pic is 5 shots from ladder looking for max charge, so 5 different powder charges.

I let the barrel cool at least 5 minutes between each shot, since the cold bore shot is what counts.
Yeah, if the bore was fouled it would have been in there with the other 4.imartin: I usually fire a few before going hunting so that my first shot on a deer will not be from a clean barrel. Your rifle shoots great after the first fouling shot. You probably already know, but I would be interested to know if your rifle doesn't keep that first shot with all the others if you begin with a fouled cold barrel. My .270 WSM behaves that way so I try to shoot it before going hunting (need the practice too!).
Nightforce has great tracking capabilities, they are rugged, a bunch of elevation, holds zero forever, and reticles are designed for long range shooting. So if you are looking to shoot long distances constantly, then you need a scope that can take the abuse. -- gilmillan1
Nightforce is such a solid combo of reticle, available elevation, glass that is good enough to shoot at the longest range you can dial. Nightforce has bullet proof construction that can handle the incidental horse rolling or some other rodeo action. -- bigngreen
The total package. Nightforce is the best I have used as far as turret feel and solid detents. I have never had one that didn't track right on and always return to zero. Nightforce NXS is the best value for everything I need. -- Broz
