180 grn vs 200 grn in 300wm

I thought the 200grn bullet would be a better choice but upon reading some peoples loads I noticed a lot of people using 180 grn pills. Before I waste any money which is a better choice? Thanks.

If the 200 grain accubond shoots well in your rifle it is hard to beat due to its BC advantage over the 180 grain hunting bullets available. If you can seat the bullets out for a longer OAL in your rifle it can help improve velocities as the longer 200 grain bullet can take up a lot of powder capacity if seated to SAMMI or less OAL. I am assuming you are hunting ELK size game?
