178 ELD-X and 300 WSM load data?

Finally got around to getting some 178 ELD-X and want to try them in the 300 WSM for spring bear. Hornady has long since removed the load data from their website as it is now in their new edition reloading guide. Grumble, grumble, grumble....

Anyone have a copy of the PDF file for the 178 from the Hornady site before it was pulled?

Also would love to hear what loads others are using for the 178 in 300 WSM. I am interested in H4350, Superformance, RL-22, and RL-17 for powders.

Did a site search here, but most load data is for the 200 Gr. plus bullets. Seems to be what everyone was working with when they first came out. Could not find any loads for the 178 and 300 WSM.

Thanks!
Did you ever get any load data for your 178 grain ELD-X bullets? Hornady has load data for it; they show the bullet @ 2.840" OAL, ignited by the WLRM primers and Superformance powder; ranging from 64.9 grains to a maximum of 69.6 grains giving 3100 fps from a 24 inch barrel.

I'm sure you've figured it out by now. Maybe others can use it for baseline ...

I had pretty good results with the 178 ELD-X and about 69.7-70 gr of IMR 7828 (compressed) in my A-Bolt and also in a friend's Sako.
64 gr of RL 17 also did well, better in my A-Bolt but not as good in the Sako.

I only shot a couple deer with this bullet and I was not very impressed so I quit using it.

What were you not impressed with about the bullet?

I have shot deer with a 143 ELD-X from 100-300 yards, Moose with 178 ELD-x from a .308 win from 30-150 yards and i have shoot moose and deer with a 220 ELD-X at 650 yards and was very happy with the performance of the bullet on everything.

Shot a deer at about 40 yards with it and it penciled through, not a big problem, the deer died in 40 yards or so. Loaded some for a friend's 300 WSM and he shot a buck around 100 yards and didn't find it, couldn't find any blood either and thought he made a good shot. Farmer found the buck's carcass a month or so later. I also had a friend shooting the 143 with his 6.5 CM, he killed a few deer with it but said they had poor blood trails and small holes. I know a lot of people have great success with them, I just don't have the confidence to hunt with them

Try these loads, velocity given is the maximum you can hope for. The RL 22 data is from Alliant, the rest are from Hornady
COAL is 2.840"

WLRM primers except RL 22

Superformance 64.6 to 69.6 grains 3100 fps

RL 22 63.0 to 67.0 grains 3000 fps (Fed 210 primers)

RL 17 60.0 to 64.0 grains 3000 fps

H4350 59.4 to 63.4 grains 2900 fps

Here's a few more loads I had good luck with all my seating depth is off the oj
I sold my old 300WSM and building another now. Just waiting on a couple of items and it'll be ready to assemble. What kind of rig are you shooting these from? All very nice groups.
It started as a gen 1 mil spec. 308 I had joe collier blue print the action and rechamber it to 300wsm I kept the barrel because it shot great and had a low round count I topped it with a leupold hd 6

Very nice and what a shooter you have there. I'm anxiously awaiting my other components to get mine started. 300WSM seems to be a great cartridge and very versatile. I see many folks here that have great results with multiple loads. Thanks for all your feedback.
