175 Berger Elite Hunter Jump???

For those that have run the .284 175 Berger Eline Hunter bullets how much jump did they like? I'm trying to decide how much freebore I need. I'm building on a XM length action so 3.2" coal is max. I would like to target 3.1". My smith asked me to send him some dummy rounds that he will set the reamer for. So I loaded them right at 3.1" but I need to let him know if I want to jump them more than .01 which for a hunting rifle I usually like a .03 jump. Just curious what those bullets like usually.

I have two rifles that I ahoot them in. Awesome bullet. Seems like a perfect bullet so far. One of my rifles is touching the lands the other is 0.012" off lands. These are the only two I use it in and have not tried in any others. Both are 7 saums.

Which is 3.078" in one I know. I don't have the coal on me cause I'm skiing currently. The one that is 3.078" is a custom with a freebore of 0.195". The other is a saami chamber I know

They are not very sensitive to seating depth from what I've seen out of the 175 EH. I'm running them in a 7SS at .033" off but they shot 1/2 moa all the way to .048" off.

Also a 7 SAUM I appreciate your reply's. Have you tried jumping them further to see how they did in your rifles?

They are not nearly as sensitive as vld's. I shoot them in my 284 win with .040 jump but they have shot good in 2 28 noslers I did load development on and they were different and didn't seem to mind where I set them. Great bullet with great terminal performance and different yardages.

Found the target of the one at the lands. My notes on my phone show this at lands by the time I got to 0.040" it went to 0.5 moa and at 0.090" went to 1 moa

Great info. And man I don't think it can get any better than that. What twist is your barrel?

My 7 SAUM is on a XM length action, 3.04" to the lands with the 175 elite. I've got them at 0.04 to 0.05 off the lands. Shoot great and hit hard!

I use 0.015 jump. Picture is 5 round group from 7 mm Rem Mag at 2950fps.

I run the Elite Hunters in several calibers and have always started them at .030 off and have only had to change seating depth once.

In my 280AI specifically, I run the 175s @ 2924 fps and at .030 off. Very accurate and typical Berger terminal performance.
