.17 hornet dies

I believe the 17 Hornet takes a #12 shell holder the same as the 22 Hornet
the die box says its a #3 shell holder
The RcBs catalog says #12, just had to buy one.
Think about it, the 30-06 and the 22 Hornet are the same!!! I don't think so.
Hornady uses different shell holder numbers than rcbs. So #3 hornady is the same as #12 rcbs I believe.
doubt a 30-06 would fit in this #3 shell holder
ah-ha its a Hornady!! I wonder why Hornady doesn't use the same # as RCBS for its shell Holders, I ran into this problem when I bought my 6.5 CM and my first set of non- rcbs dies.
Everyone one in this part of the country uses RCBS dies as the factory is close to here and the Guys that work there are great at helping us with any problem that my come up. When I bought my CM at Sportsman's Warehouse the only set of Dies that were in stock were the Hornady. So not wanting to buy more factory ammo for it I decided to try out the Hornady Dies. I did later buy a Redding Competition seater die also for it.
