I want to use 155's in my 308 for wolfhunting.
Which one is preferrable? I'm not concerned with pelt damage.

I have BL-C2, 748, 4064, RL-15, 4320 & IMR 4350.

Federal 210, 210GMM, 215
Win Large & Magnum
CCI Large & Mag

Lapua and Win brass

mate, i use an australian made bullet so you wont be able to get it in the states but its almost identical to the berger 155gr VLD in everyway. Works pretty darn good for hunting.

As for the load, 44.8gr of varget is an exceptionally accurate long range load in my rifle, velocity = 2830fps with a SD of 2fps.

And if you dont want to use varget, another great load was 45.6gr IMR4895 or H4895, a bit faster @ 2950fps but the SD was not as good @ 12fps, still very accurate tho.

primers were standard remington 9 1/2.
I use cheap Win cases, but lapua is even better.

happy hunting

How do you get 2830 with 44.8 grains of varget. i have shot the 155's with 46 to 47 grains and was getting 2890 with the 46 and 2914 with the 47 grains. cant get the bergers to shoot so on to the amax.
