147 ELD-M or 156 Berger EOL

I always thought that the eld-x had a thinner jacket than the eld-m but that is not the case. There is a video on YouTube where a guy takes a bullet of the same caliber and similar weight of each model and cuts them in half length wise and the eld-x clearly has a thicker jacket. The reason he was given was so the bullet will penetrate game deeper before the core and jacket separate. Knowing this I would think the eld-m would expand earlier.
Thats true of the base of the jacket but not the nose. The eldx actually expands easier but the thicker base with the crimp is supposed to then slow expansion and hold it together. The eldx is every bit as explosive close up as the eldm IMO

Sorry, but I could not find the video again but I did find a pic.

I know a few of these are not what your looking for/at but it's cool to see what bullets do what. Love what Barborcreek Long Range is doing here.....he still prefers the lead/copper bullets to the monolithic bullets, from what I had seen on a comment he had made to another viewer Berger's and Hornady bullets are his favorites yet.....wish I could afford the cutting edge bullets as it looked like they performed a little better than the hammers. The only custom mono bullets that are reasonably priced are the Badlands bullets.... may have to try those in my 6.5prc unless federal gets their act together and get more offerings of their Edge TLR out there.
