I have just received some 131 blackjack bullets and was wondering what is a good powder to start with in 25-06ai also starting weight? Have retumbo, h1000 and 4831sc would like to try imr8133 also would try any other recommendations.

Mine likes Retumbo in Fire-formed brass. The best load for Accuracy I found for Fire-forming used H4350 ( 2834 FPS ) believe it or not. The fire-forming load is slow but it is also Sub 1/2 MOA. I don't remember where I started but I ended up at 60 gr of Retumbo using fire-formed WIN brass. I will note that it seems like I have a finnicky barrel when it comes to the 131's. Berger 115's were the easiest load work up I have ever done. I think part of my problem was my barrel was still breaking in while I was trying to shoot the Ace.

WHole point of the AI is to squeeze out some more speed, Retumbo and 8133 will give you your best speeds. that should be one hell of a good combo with the 131's

Tagging to see updates on the 25-06 AI. A magazine has been working on similar but haven't seen the article yet.

Regular 26" 25-06 yields 2170-3215 fps usually, so this AI should allow for 3280 fps, perhaps more.

The 131 ACE likes 3325 for some reason but I do not think 25-06 AI will get there unless a hot does of RL26 or something similar was behind it.

RL 26 is your friend.
Have to try some rl 26, seen some at the gun shop last week but did not get any because it is hard to get!!! Have a lot of retumbo but it is impossible to find now so Probably same it for my 26 nosler which it loves!!!
