The Sledgehammer has a MUCH larger opening on the hollow point, 1.5mm I believe, that while not as high a BC as other bullets, they open up WAY more and produce the results you are seeing. Inside ~500 yards you won't suffer from the BC

I've had some issues with Barnes dispatching quickly. I originally thought the Sledge Hammers would perform on the same par. I was wrong. The construction is completely different. More impressively was the wound channel. I don't know much of the bullet is retained. But its efficiency is absolutely incredible.
