Yes, that is a shame IMO. Great caliber and if you convert it to millimeters it is actually a 7mm. I have another rifle, made by Kirby Allen off of a accurized Rem 700. Lilja 30" 1-8 twist, 3 groove barrel. The .270 Allen Magnum; parent case is .300 RUM. With this faster twist and longer barrel I shoot the 170gn Bergers at 3500fps. Laser flat trajectory and kills like a death ray!

Cal, recently shot the 135 SMK's in a trade I just acquired and was pleased to find the very accurate. IMR4831, 53.0gn and Rem 9.5 primer. Running just over 2850fps with 5fps ES and 2.5 SD. Accuracy hovers just under .5" at 100yds and MOA out to 300yds. That 300yd group is me as I only have a VX-Freedom 3x9 scope of the rifle. Hope this helps.
