38 special loads

W231 or Bullseye works great. I use W231. I have experimented with different charges and usually come up somewhere between min and max.
Hornady makes a big box of HBWC 148gr bullets that are cheap and extremely accurate. The WC design cuts a nice hole in paper.
Seat the bullet flush to the case mouth.

148 gr. Hollow Base Wadcutter, any small pistol primer. 2.7 grs. Bullseye. Seat the bullet flush with the case mouth. Use a slight roll crimp & have a ball. Very accurate & low recoil for Mom & the kids.

My favorite .38 Special load is a 158gr LSWC over 4.0gr W231.

If you like wadcutters better these are the 2 loads I use.

A 148gr DEWC over 3.4gr W231
A 148gr HBWC over 3.2gr W231

Don't have data on me but 158 lead rn with trail boss cheap & easy cast yer own it's almost cheeper than 22's thies days
