A QUESTION - HONEST ANSWERS NOW...

No rifles as safe queens ........

But there are two shotguns that live the elegant comfortable life of being cleaned once in awhile with out being shot much.

Both Ithacas a 51 12ga and a 37 20ga featherweight.

They aren't worth much but there are a lot of memories associated with each.

Oh, and I guess there is the Ruger #1 in 375 H&H that I almost sold awhile back but chickened out.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

uh oh...Honest answer my safe is itself a queen:) With limited time to shoot the only ones I use on any regular basis are my 221FB Rem 700, Ruger 77/22 Hornet, custom 22-250AI, 6PPC, 30-378 and my 416 Weatherby. Out of these the hornet or fireball get used the most along with my Benelli Nova.
So yes I am guilty as charged. Far as the other 25 or so that get shot maybe once a year I am sorry. In the future I will try to make time for you /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't have a safe unless my truck counts. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I keep all my guns in there. 2 rifles, 1 shotgun, 2 pistols and my bow. Not much room for passengers in the back but I can squeeze someone in the passenger seat if I move some stuff around.
My kid owns more guns than I do but I shoot alot more than he does. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I forgot about the snub nosed 38 tucked under the mattress.

I just want to go off topic here slightly,
I envy the freedom you have that allows you to leave your rifles in your truck. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Here in England, if i were to leave my guns in my car, the police would be jumping up and down with glee at the thought of slinging me in jail and throwing away the key.

The biggest feather in the governments hat on gun control, is the unfound belief that limiting the amount guns in the hands of law abiding licence holders, will reduce the amount of guns in the hands of criminals. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

No matter how many times our shooting organisations tell them it wont make any diffreence at all, they dont want listen. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

At this time of year let us not forget those who laid down their lives for these freedoms and the fight we have against those who want to give them away.

PS. When Tony Blair resigns we will get a Prime Minister that no one voted for!

Ian, just to make you feel worse about the UK gun laws,
my only current safe queen is a Browning 9mm pistol, my ex wife bought me it for christmas several years ago, i don';t know if thats the reason i haven't parted with it or the fact that i can't get a decent price for it. Ive advertised it, but the pistol market in germany is crap, nothing moving, and i'm not letting it go for a song. The browning is to heavey to carry hunting, and what goo is a hand gun in a safe? i use my S&W airlight TI in 38 special (+P) for all my hand gun work.
I did have a load of rifles i didn't use much, i sold them off end of last year beginning of this to finance workshop machinery.
Ive some old knock about rifles i use as estate rifles, but they get used a fair bit.
Ive even sold my close quarter boar, 9.3x62.. my only rifle at the mo is my trusty 30-06 Remington 700, and its the rifle i've hunted with the most over the last 15 years.
so no real safe queens there..
i do have some test beds though..
I'm playing with a project at the mo, which can't decide if its gonna be a 9.3 WSM or a 9.3 subsonic, probably end up with one of each. and i'm tinkering with re barreling remington 7400 and 7600's to 9.3x62.
Pete

re rifles, the only one that doesn't get used too much is a sako .22rf range. however, i have a rake of shotguns that i'd sell tomorrow if i thought i'd get a decent price for the things. browning b125 F1 trap gun, miroku 5000special olympic skeet gun, skb, beretta etc. etc.

I have 2 one is a stevens .410 single barrel first gun at sixth birthday. The other is a .270 WBY. on Sako action with Douglas barrel made by a great friend the late Leonard Sheffield of Rome,Ga.

I have a few guns I shoot regularly, but I'm getting pretty good at buying safe queens. For some reason though, I can't have a pistol be a safe queen, but shotguns are ok. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I used to have 22 pistols in the "safe queen" status, but I sold them off....only to be replace by shotguns in the "guns they don't make anymore" category.
