Cooper Model 52

Has anyone seen a Cooper model 52 with the cerakote and Bell and Carlson stock that Cooper is putting out? I have my eye on a 6.5x284. Looks great on the internet and the shop is a few hours away. Trying to decide if its worth the drive and the money they want for the gun.... anybody seen/shot one?

I currently have a Cooper M52 Excalibur 6.5x284 Norma on order. I ordered a 26in stainless barrel and action. The action, bolt, and bottom mettal will be cerakoted in matte black. I requested that the barrel is not coated because I like the look of the stainless barrel next to the dark action.

I personally have not held one, but have looked at one through a display case. All of the attendents were busy and it was a couple of minutes until closing. However, I did not need to hold it to see the quality.

I purchased a Leupold VX-3 6.5x20x50 with TMR reticle and Ken Farrel rail mount. The rings will come later...probably KF as well. Hope this helps.

Any idea when it will arrive? Would like to hear how it looks/shots. Maybe a pic or two... Thanks

I have handled a couple of Coopers with the B&C stock. They look and feel very well. You are basically getting a custom grade rifle for a little less than custom prices. They are guaranteed to shoot .5 MOA like most customs and usually shoot a little better like most customs.

I would also like to get a Cooper in 6.5x284. If I do I'll get it in an 8 twist 26" barrel.

I also ordered an 8 twist barrel. I believe that is a standard option for the 6.5x284.

I ordered an all stainless M54 last Feb. I'm over 13 months and still waiting. Good luck!

What caliber and style did you order? I ordered an Excalibur with the synthetic stock. I am surprised that you haven't received it yet. What is the last time you checked with them and what did they say?

I have a Cooper 52. With wood stock in 30.06 getting under 1in at 200 yards with a number of bullets. Thought about getting there glass stock. For now going to leave it alone. 180 Sierra with h4350. 3/4 at 200 yards

Yeah they are definitely shooters. I can't wait to get mine...this wait is painful...

I have had my cooper m52 Excalibur 6.5x284 for about 6 months and love it. It consistently shoots 1/4-1/2 minute groups out to 800 yards. Haven't shot it any further yet. Great trigger, easy to clean and point of impact varies very little hot or cold foul shot or not. It's a joy to shoot. Mine is not coated but as far ar the rifle goes I believe they are worth every penny.

I have owned the 520, which I believe is the repeater version, for a few years in 6.5x284. It's the most accurate rifle I have ever owned. It has about 500 rounds through it and consistently shoots .25MOA or better measured at 500 yards. It has. 1:8 twist, cerrakote, #6, 26" barrel, synthetic stock w/ rollover cheekpiece, and brake. I have taken a couple of dozen deer, antelope, and coyotes between 600 and 1100 yards with this rifle It's a dream to shoot. I shoot 140 Berger VLD's at 2965 FPS. I have a Huskemaw 5x20 mounted on it.

So far, I have been pleased with their customer service. Hopefully it arrives on time...

I ordered a Jackson Hunter in 7mm-08 Rem. I specified a 13.5" LOP and that's the hold up. Why it would take so long to shorten a synthetic stock 1/4" is beyond me. Cooper finally shortened it themselves but then had to send it back to Bell & Carlson to be painted. That's where we are now!
