First post here, but some of you likely know me from other forums. I wanted to introduce myself with a few pictures of what I'm up to this winter. Here's a few of the big Alaskan foxes I've gotten this year. Between trapping, spot and stalk, and calling, I'm having a blast! Many of these were taken between 200-400 yds with a 17 Remington.

Wow. Those look totally different than they do here. I am not sure I've killed a coyote that size yet... :)

Speaking of coyotes, how big are them buggers up there?

No coyotes here. These fox were brought to Kodiak Island by the Russians a few hundred years ago to farm them. They are Siberian breeding stock. Here's one of the silvers I got along with another cross fox. They are all red fox, just different color phases. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Ya some of those are huge. We have some good size ones here but not that big. How is the rabbit population on Kodiak this year. We are in the die off and I haven't seen one all winter. The trappers are having a hard time this winter here as other fox and coyot are eating any caught animal.
I really like the look of your rifle.

Thanks. The snowshoe hares are pretty thick although I believe they are on the down swing in some areas due to hunting pressure. Still getting quite a few fox this winter but most of my success is with trapping. We are enjoying a mild season, no snow and temps areound freezing most of the winter. I have been calling a little but no luck in the past few weeks.

Here's a few more from the past couple weeks. It has been raining and snowing on and off for quite awhile so my fur hasn't been picture quality. Most of them look like drowned rats after an hour in the rain. They have been coming in all colors this year, and average size 52" and 16lbs. We did get one red that measured 68" last week.

we get large foxs in Wales 20 -30 pound more on the 20LB mark, They dont look quite so big as they are not a mass of fur as we dont get harsh weather here, the larger ones are very muscular and mostly off of the high ground and in good shape ive been after one for a while now thats big, he has been lucky up to now, but i only need to be lucky once
