The 280 Rem. has the greatest amount of Bullet choices and some of the 7mm Bullets have the highest BC of any of the other calibers including the 6.5mm.

Definitely the 280REM, personally I go 280AI.

Most everyone can appreciate the virtues, versatility and proven performance of the 280 Ackley Improved!

I am definetly intriqued with the 280AI. I like the bullet selection of the 7mm caliber. The smith that i have hired to do the build turns out alot of 6.5-06 rifles and everyone seems to like his work. He also tells me he spent some time with Mr Ackley as well. im looking forward to the new rifle.

Bullet selection, Nosler brass/ammo and the option to run factory 280REM ammo...
The 280AI is finally coming into it's prime! I would still love to get my hands on a 6.5-06 but at this time I just can't mess with perfection.

Of the 3, I would choose 6.5-06.

If you add AI versions then I think the 280AI is the leader of the group.

I voted 280 as I am in sell mode now and wildcats like the 6.5-06 are difficult to sell. No one ever plans to get rid of one. We always feel we will shoot it out and rebarrel but plan for the worst and hope for the best.

I would love to hear your reasons for your vote? Who knows, as fast as I turn over rifles it might be on the classifieds here soon!:)
I voted 270 only because it's my favorite caliber, the first rifle I ever owned, and I've killed a lot of game with it. Plus, I own or have owned 5 custom 270s. I JUST put together my first 280 ever and it was a cake walk to find a load.

If you're going to use your rifle for hunting get the .280.... and it's on-game performance will shade the .270.
HA HA HA! No it doesn't! All 3 listed, AND the 280 AI AND a 6.5-06 AI will all do the same thing to game, and that's kill it so long as the hunter does things right.
