I am looking to buy an AR in 6.5 Creedmoor and am looking at some brass to reload. I know the Lapua is best but is there a preference in Federal, Hornady, or Winchester? I am new to the 6.5 CM, along with the reloading for an AR. Thanks, Alan

I don't have the answer you are looking for, but I want to remind you that they make that brass with either large or small primer pockets, so it may be more important that you get the brass that you have primers for, since they are so hard to find these days..

tagged as i'm looking at a 25 creed and from what i understand it's better to neck down a 6.5 case than necking up a 6 creed case and yes i know they all share the same case

Thanks, I noticed yesterday CM used small and large. Was reading some threads on that this morning. I been reloading mainly Hornady,

Lapua, Alpha, Peterson, ADG.

All leaps and bounds better than Hornady, Federal or Winchester.

Unless you plan to shoot and leave it. But if you plan to keep and reload, go with one of the four I listed.

Precision or just for banging away?

Precision buy the best you can get.

But if just for shooting or close range stuff Starline is perfectly functional brass, and not nearly the cost of a premium brand that might not benefit you at all.

And you won't cry when you lose a case or 30 trying to shoot a running pig from a moving Mule.... not that we'd ever hunt that way down here 🤡

A running pig from a moving mule?

I feel like Dorothy when the house landed and everything became technicolor. That should be an Olympic sport.

I'm using Norma brass at present because I got a good deal on 300 of them and I had a ton of LR primers on hand, Four loadings so far without issue. When the time comes to replace them, I'll likely go with Lapua or Peterson SRP brass.

Just for giggles:

With my creedmoors i shoot Peterson in my boot guns and Hornady in my gas gun. However starline would be a great pick for bulk as well.
