Ok all I am looking to put this new glass on a 30-06. I am here in UT and hunt mostly northern Utah, shots on elk can be 35 yds and in the lodgepole pines or out to about 600 yd's off of a plateau. I have been kind of looking at the Swaro Z5 2.4x12x50 4W reticle, Zeiss Z4 3x12x44 or 56 in the 6 or 60 Reticle. as well as some Leupold options and the Razor LHT. I would like to try and keep this optic under the 20oz mark it possible. Shots can be snap shots on moving game to I have time and can get comfy and then shoot-em. 1500 is the very top of my budget. (not including rings)

Please any advice would be great with this. I am not brand loyal but do care about glass quality.

Thanks
Matt

I'm a big fan of the Swaro Z5. They're very lightweight, solid, and have impeccable optical performance. I also have a Razor LHT, the glass is only a small step down from the Swarovski but it's a model without the adjustable parallax so I don't use it as often for longer range hunting scenarios.

new razor LHT 4.4-22. just got mine all setup and run through on my 338RUM. great glass, great turrets. very useable reticle at low power and clean marks at high power. weighs in at 22oz and has excellent features.

Your budget puts you in a decent class of scope. I've read good things about the Zeiss. I think you could get a Maven also.

I always check the demo section at Euro Optic. One Vortex AMG (sold) and 2 NF's later I am very happy with the price and the product.
Right now in the sale section at Eurooptic there's a ton of Vortex scopes on close outs. PST scopes as low as $479 I believe. Razors down to $1500 or $1599. Here I'll just add the link if you want to check them out.
