My new Brux on my old 700 seems to have a thing for the 90 Hammer. Need to do some more work with it to know for sure, but initial work is good.

Anyone from LRHF been using the 90's in their 25's?

I have a 9 twist Brux and am not looking for data for the heavies please...:)

Many thanks, Life's short, hunt hard!

Check the absolute hammer data that Steve Talor posted I just finshed load work up on a 25 -284 1-8 twist no pressure at 3848 90 gr absolute rl19 nearly got there with h4350 but hit pressure still had good velocity's

Correction Gl Taylor is posting our absolute hammer and hammer hunter load data results

I'm using the 92 HH in my 25-06. Getting 3500fps with RL23. My load data is in the HH spreadsheet.

I really like the 103 grain hammer hunter. Think they would work in a 9 twist. It is in a 25-06ai at 3450 with no pressure signs. Using retumbo and cci250 primers. They shoot 1/4 moa consistently. Shot a couple coyotes last year and on one, the back legs were next to his head after the shot!!! It was a close shot and a little high! Have not shot any deer yet to see any results!

Thx all, I'll check into it all. This will be used for all that moves here from rock chucks to elk.

Pretty amazing to get the 90 to 3848 with no apparent pressure signs........I would suspect that a normal 90 would be rolling out in the 3400 range. So getting 448 or so more speed without pressure is a bit odd:)

I am just a bit shocked that no one has found a way to pressure test Hammers.

Thanks all and have a super day!

I've got a Speer loading manual # 9 that has the 25-284 at 3623 fps with 58 grs of imr4831 and 55 grs of imr4350 at3509 fps with a 87 gr Speer the 2506 max with a 87 gr is 3656 with 59 grs of imr 4831 and 56grs of imr4350 at 3528 fps then found some data using rl 19 with max load of 59 grs witha 85 gr ballistic tip at 3718 fps so being that the hammer has less parabolic drag I am able too achieve those velocities with the 90 gr absolute hammer I used that data as a starting point good luck with your load development keep us posted

thought it was an older one, think I have the same oldie on the bench:)

For me, AI is about reducing trimming not speed. IME, on all the AI rounds I've been around if one keeps it to similar and sane pressures one will pick up 100 fps over the standard round. 100 fps for me isn't anything to dick with to loose the smooth feeding of the standard case.

But, that just me and where I am in my loading journey.

I long ago figured out I can make rounds go about any speed I really want them to go:) All sans pressure of course.

I didn't mention I am using Lapua brass 6 .5 -284 necked down too 25-284 seems too take pressure very good primer pockets stay tight on my rl 19 load I got vel and accuracy had 2 shots out of 17 out of a in with a 6 gr spread of powder on my ladder test most where touching you will be impressed with hammer bullets if your not allready

Yeah Lapua is some kind of tough stuff, I always back off a couple grain from other brass as it's so thick and tough and by backing off a couple speed wise I'll end up where I do with standard brass. IMO, it masks pressure's very well.

Speed equals pressure and pressure equals speed as one of my best friends says.

So far, I've shot them out of my 22/250 AI, 25/06, 270, 7 Mashburn Super and my 308. Most all have shot well for me and to what I would call the rifles are capable of with bullets that the guns like.
