My 30-28 is sighted in at 200 and only needs a little over 20 m.o.a to get to a 1,000 with the 215 I'm guessing the 300 weather might need 23 or 24.

Lol....22.8 with 208s....you da man Sherm! AND also 200 zero for same reason!

Then why purchase a scope with turrets? He obviously spent the money and wants it to function as designed.

Your method works if holding for MPB. Kentucky windage works fine but then why have turrets.

From there you dial your scope into zero, then put the top cap back on and that sets your "zero stop" I wanted to check before I lied to you about what I thought I did. IF you have not taken the little set screw out of the turret and pulled it off yet, that should get ya set up.

Yes, went to the range and was really close, did the two shot sight in method and dialed it in. Reset my stop and am ready for moose hunting

Excellent! So what is your total elevation adjustment now?

I had an issue like that , and also "foggy sight picture" with my 36 X Sightron Target scope on my heavy BBl savage 110 in 308 . I sent the scope back to the company. The Sightron company told me "Your issue is most likely your 20MOA rail." Since it was my "HOPE," to get to some day shoot at a 600 yard range, I thought the 20 MOA rail would be great to have . Perhaps too much over thinking . I will be removing it and using Steel Leupold Dual Dove Tail Rings and Bases, as I do on many of my hunting rifles. 95 percent of my shooting will be at the 100, and the 300 yard range. ( Not Long Range for sure ) . Possibly a 20 MOA rail may not even be needed for 600 yard target shooting . We will see.
