Barrel Damage?

Does anyone know what caused this? They kind of look like pressure rings with material erosion? Just a guess on my part.

This is mechanical damage, not from a projectile or erosion. Not from normal usage likely a tool did this somehow

Think it said 243 earlier....just get a chainsaw file and reach in there and smooth it a bit....cant hurt it much more.....

Do I use the file before or after the salt bath?

Use a skiptooth chisel bit....it'll do'r good......
