Unobtainium/Reloader 26

Wife asked me to carry one of the dogs by the vet this morning. She said "I know you want to go by the gun shop". So, I drop of said dog and went by the shop to kill some time until the vet was done. A good friend working there was working on a trade when I arrived. Part of the trade was a pound of RL 26. He jokingly asked if I wanted it. I think his wrist will be alright, considering how fast I grabbed it! Even made me a great price on it! Went and picked up dog, cut grass, and when wife got back I showed it off like a big buck! Lol. It's been a good day. Now, I can feel comfortable continuing load development on my 300 PRC.

I've still got a couple of pounds and it shoots well in a few cartridges. However, with all the talk about spiking pressure above 85 deg (or so) I'm switching some rifles over to RE23 which is a lot more stable and seems to reach nearly as high velocities.

I was lucky enough to grab a jug of RE23 recently so that sure helps. :>)

I'm down to 1.5lbs which is a shame because my 300win and 257wby love it.

My guy believes Reloader 25/26 will available mid September or October. He has been pretty good so far yesterday I picked up 5 pounds of Retumbo from his shop . Primers are still a concern from what he is telling me .

I was seeing that in my 300 Win Mag with RE22. Spikes as ambient temps rose. Also with RE17 in a 6.5x47. So far, I haven't seen it with this powder in the 300 PRC.

I was down to one.

Rl23 is very close in performance to rl26 and gets close with slightly less powder than rl26. I was lucky to buy a rl26 keg before happy hoarders kicked in just for my normal need.

I haven't tried RL-23 yet, but RL-26 has been the ticket for my 6.5 PRC with the 120 GMX. Made it up to 3,350 with no pressure signs and a compressed load. Accuracy node was down at 3,250 which should give plenty of expansion with the copper solid.

Congrats on the score, I had to work up a load quick with only 1 lb for this year. Hoping a shipment drops soon!

powdervalley had rl26 about a week ago, lasted for over 30 minutes after I randomly checked.

H4831SC should get you cto that speed and is temp stable.

My local guy said same. He received one shipment from Alliant last year and it was early oct.

RL-26 is truly unicorn dust. I use it in my 25-06, 6.5/284, 30-06, 7mm Mag and 300 win Mag. It beats any other powder I have used in those rifles.
