6.5-284 & IMR 4831

I'm sure this has been touched on, but I can't seem to find any info addressing this question. I have a 6.5-284, 24" 1-8 twist, running Berger 140 vld with 52g of Hodgdon 4831, getting around 3k fps. Unfortunately I'm having a very very hard time getting any more H4831. Like everyone else I'm sure.
My question is, am I able to get the same fps with imr 4831? If so, at what grain? I know imr burns differently, so I was checking what others have done. I'm sure I'm not the first, but if I have to start over with a whole new recipe, I guess I will.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Am I the only one for whom the data for H4831 compared to IMR4831 on the page above do not seem to make sense? Max pressure reached with H at one grain less than IMR, and over 200 FPS more with IMR than H at whatever pressure they chose to limit themselves to?
In 06 sized cases, which 6.5-284 is similar to, I've found over the years that 2-3 grains less of IMR4831 gives similar pressure/velocity to H4831. That said I d reduce your load more than 3 grains and work back up.
This matches my experience too, but is completely counter to the data above.
Thoughts anyone?

Rex, I noticed that also and is in conflict of my experiences. That's why I try to look at multiple reloading data and start low and work up with chronograph and measure new brass case head expansion when starting load development on a new rifle! 👍

I use RL-26 in my Shaw 6.5-284 Norma with 140 gr Bergers. I average 3036 fps in a 26" barrel. It shoots absolute lasers.

Dave, I recently got 8 pounds of RL 26 to try in my 6.5-284 with 139 Scenars. Data seems to be scarce with the RL 26.....any suggestions? memtb

I use 55.3gr of RL-26 with my 140 gr Bergers. Of course every rifle is different but this combo really works well for me. Since this forum put me on to RL-26, I use it in my 25-06, 6.5/284, 30-06, 7mm Mag and 300 Win Mag. The stuff is incredible. You are lucky to find any. I haven't seen any
at my LGS in a year.

Ever looked at IMR 4955 or IMR7977 both are close to what you are using now and these are also temperature insensitive better than imr4831.
