Lyman hand primer

its 6.5 lapua brass srp and on my dads 7 rm remington brass it doesnt even seat them below the base ill contact them next week and think im going to order the frankford too

I started out using a Lyman 310 "nut-cracker" tool in 30-06 in 1969 where the die was cut in half and you could visually see primer depth for consistency. I have since used several other tools and methods, including the priming tool on my RCBS press and Lee priming tool (both the old and new). I prefer the Lee tool for my setup. I neither load for the bench-type competition (though I am always tinkering to improve what I think can be better in my guns) or quantity.

Agree with misterc01 - the Lee Auto Bench Priming Tool is the easiest priming tool I've ever used, so much better than any of the hand priming tools.

Send it back, even if you get another it must be defective. RCBS makes a good one

Good call!

I've had my RCBS bench priming tool for 30 years or more. I also use my Rock Chucker mounted primer seater and have never had any issues with either.

it works really well with the large primers small not so much with small primers do yourself a favor when u screw the primer assembly together put thread locker on the them if not they will come loose and you get primers all over the place when you get down to the last few it has a tendency to spit them out as well all in all would recommend it though

I use the RCBS bench top priming tool any time I'm going to prime more than 40 rounds or so. For less than that I just use the pruning system on my Rockchucker. .

I just continue to use my old rock chucker from the 70s for priming never need anything else,but the primer tool on my new rock chucker is lousy if I did not have my old one I would primer a bench primer tool
