6mm Creedmoor issue

good day my fellow reloaders,
having issues with the new Remington 700 PCR Enhanced in 6mm creedmoor.
new Peterson brass
75gr Vmax seated to Hornady manual length of 2.640"
ive got less the 200 rds thru the barrel.
previously that day had shot 109 & 90 Berger's without issue.
these bullets won't bolt up.
decided to try some 87gr Vmax that also are made to manual specs. Had great difficulties getting it to bolt over. If you look at the photo you can see it was in the lands quite a bit.
when I got finished seating the 75gr bullet to the point where it would bolt up was at 2.460. Suppose it was wrong at 2.640

is the Hornady manual wrong?

Every rifle is different, the throat is different. Not a big deal. Buy a Hornady oal gauge to help you

Man that was a quick response this is not a custom barrel. I have one but haven't drilled and tapped the fire formed brass yet.
it should fit as that data is to "Sammy " spec right?

To me this seems excessive.

When was the last time you cleaned it? My guess is you have a Carbon ring and are not actually touching the lands of the factory chamber. Especially since you did not check distance to lands when you first got the rifle.

Id suggest getting it cleaned really well and testing again.

Thankx Steve. It's the first thing I did when I returned. I bore scoped it too. It seems clean to me. The Berger has a 14 thou difference (CBTO) and bolted up fine. Should that be if I need to seat that VMAX to 2.460?

Can't say for sure on the 6mm but the ogive on Edlx compared to Berger is way different. The EDLX is further forward and have to be seated much shorter than Berger's in 7mm.

Something isn't adding up. SAAMI is 2.80 as max. You shouldn't have to load at 2.46 to get it chamber.

Pull the firing pin, ejector, and extractor, and find your actual CBTO touching the lands.

I never measure COAL except to make sure a round fits in a mag. I rarely, if ever, meet SAAMI spec for COAL.

To get to the 2.460 I seated by 10thou and checked if it would bolt over. Regardless bolting over at 2.460 is not normal or close to normal. As you can see I have the gauge to measure CBTO. Once I fire form all the brass then I measure the bore and will adjust seating using the CBTO measured at time of COAL measuring.
Regardless it's a Hornady manual and a Hornady bullet so it should have chambered up. Maybe I'll post some photos of the bore; won't be the best as the head of the scope can't get to the lands.

Now this makes sense. How can I measure this?

Your photo above showing 2.2095" is how its measure, i think. But depending on the size of the insert, the reading may be different.
Tool is to compare reloads. Not for comparing to SAAMI Standards.

But* the rub marks on your chambered round/bullet, looks like the throat is tight or bullets are bigger then .243" ?
