My question is has anyone had any first hand experience with the Sightmark Wraith?
Don't get me wrong I would love to have something nicer but its hard to justify me spending that kind of money for something that will be used 2 or 3 times.
I have a small peice of hunting property I need to remove a few coyotes from in which the longest shot maybe 200 yards.
 
I love it. I've had zero issues with it. The only complaint i would have is the factory ir light is not that great. It will probably get you to 200 but the scope definitely does better with an aftermarket IR, which I already had. With my IR it doesn't really matter what the moon is, but fog or mist you are going to get washout effects. The daytime picture is good out the box but with a few minor tweaks it gets much better. I put a Butler Creek cap on it and drilled a small hole in the center and leave the cap closed during the day. The older Photons had a punch out in the lens cap for day use so I mimic'd that. I started with a 1/16" bit and worked my way up till I got the picture I wanted 5/16". Doing this and adjusting the brightness made it almost as good as a conventional scope in the daytime. You just have to remember to open the cap for nighttime use. Battery life is not bad if you use lithium AA's or a good quality rechargeable like Enelop of Kentil I would get a full night plus some out of a set, but I started using a battery pack and can go weeks.

Edkin, how is the field of view for night spotting? Are you using your rifle to scan, or a separate handheld?
 
I use a thermal to scan with. The field of view is a little small but really not an issue until you get inside of 40-50 yards. What I've learn to do that helps is with rifle on the tripod when I pick up something in the thermal I swing the rifle and start fitting into shooting position keeping my head and scanner just above the line of the scope then drop to the scope after setting the scanner to sleep mode. The only time that gets a little tricky is if you get a hard charger, but it's usually 2 or 3 of us hunting and at least one thermal scope so someone is usually on the hard charger. None of us scan with the rifle for safety purposes.
 
I will echo what EdKin has said. Great night scope overall and picture is very clear. The field of view is a bit on the smaller side within 50 yds. I haven't tried mine for day hunting as I have another rig set up for daytime use. I use a Bushnell Equinox Z handheld for scanning and then switch over to the rifle, safety purposes also.
 
I just got one a couple weeks back. Never used the stock IR. I used a NS750 and was able to identify to 300. Picking out eyes Im sure is further.
Day use, it's definitely not a traditional scope. It's very picky on focus so expect to adjust that regularly.
 
I've had the 2x and 4x the 2x has a bigger fov i sold the 4x after using the 2x if your shots are going to be fairly close I'd go with the 2x and a sniper hog 66lrx light the 4x was just to much almost like the base mag was more then 4 power as they claim
