Imperial Sizing Die Wax

Basically I agree, but it can jam up a bushing in a bushing die....well, it did for me.

it is easy to dent necks too, but putting the neck lube on the neck by hand stops that.
I have been using Hornady Unique case lube for 4 years now without any issues. Most that have issues use too much of it.

Good substitutes, usually easy to find:
  • Mink oil at dollar tree.
  • Refined coconut oil and 99% isopropyl alcohol, 50:50
  • 99% isopropyl alcohol and pure lanolin, 10:1
If you cannot find 99%, you can use 91% or 180 proof everclear. DO NOT use methanol - that stuff will mess you up.

I've been messed up on Everclear

Thanks, I do make my own homemade for my progressive loaded rounds minus the mink oil. For my precision loads and hunting loads on single presses I use Imperial.

Me too. I mean that methanol will mess you up if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. The body sees it the same as everclear (ethyl alcohol), while isopropyl alcohol is absorbed differently.

I have been using this stuff i purchased from this guy on SH. It works very well- i prefer it to imperial actually.

I've been making my own at about 12:1 alcohol to lanolin. It is really not hard to do. Assuming, of course, that you can find the percentage alcohol. Bought all of mine of amazon pre epidemic.
Looks like they have the alcohol: https://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Isopropyl-Alcohol-Grade-Anhydrous/dp/B00ZSOO4UA?psc=1 Cost enough looks close to the same as then. USP lanolin oil is also showing as available.
I use a cookie sheet with a shop grade paper towel liner to lay the cases on. Spritz on the lanolin mixture and then shake the tray to roll the cases around. I've sized a couple hundred cases this way, including moving the shoulder on some old .300 WM to make them break-in rounds for a .308 Norma and I've yet to have even a hint of a stuck case.

As to the Imperial Die Wax, I have a clone product that was OK, but the application of it was tedious. At this point I'm not seeing any advantage of the wax over the sprayed lanolin mixture. Of the wax over the RCBS lube pad & lube, OH YEAH! BIG advantage there!
