Do you figure 2900 would be feasible in a 24" barrel running H1000?
It'll be suppressed, and so far I've noticed an average of 30-40 fps boost from my suppressor vs a brake.

You could also have Shawn at DE do the +P throating on it and gain an additional ~100-150 fps

The thing about stepping up from a 215 to a 245......recoil gets intense. In my norma improved a 215 @ 3150, 230 @ 3075 shoot pretty soft very manageable. The 245 @ 3000fps is a handful! This is from a sub 8# rife sans optics. Proper position/form for recoil management becomes essential here. Sporting impacts can even be tough with an effective brake. All three of those bullets at those speeds are within a few inches of each other in wind drift, and of course the 215 is a lil flatter, but the 230/245 have similar drops, again within a few inches.

I understand that but I'm going to drive my exotics with one foot on the gas and the other on a banana peel. All hunting guns are in the top node. I have heavy guns for targets and lighter hunting guns for backcountry I do not mind burning out barrels as the trips and time off cost as much as the barrel. FYI N570 will burn your throat ~30-40% faster than H1000 but I still run N570 for the speed gains and I need the temp stability in summer. I guess it's a compromise but usually by the time your barrel is toast there's a new must have creedmoor cartridge to play with, as well as better bullets and powders..... I have fun with that.

Just go to an xl action and run 30-338lapua lol. It'll get you there. just messing around, don't listen to me.

Can't be any worse than the 7lb 338 Rum I was shooting with 265's and 93 grains of powder.
That wasn't much fun

Also, depending on your action, Preferred Barrels has the reamers for the Sherman cases and their prefits are very reasonable. No first hand experience with them but reports have been good.

My 9.5 lb ready to hunt 338 Norma with a 24" tube sending 270's at 2840 with 89 grains is a ***** cat, I have spotted my impact on every animal I shot this year, from 200 yards out to 873. I think the MBM 5 port Beast makes a significant difference though. A 245 at 3000 would be even better, no issues there!

Now if you run a bare muzzle......your gonna feel it!!! Ha ha.

Yeah it'll have a can on the end so not gonna be as effective as a brake but should tame it down still.
Honestly I'm getting away from brakes because the concussion wears me out more than recoil, even with double ear protection.
Although nothing makes it easier to spot your shots than a brake

Ya, know what you mean, I'm building a hot 25 cal to run supressed for mule deer and pronghorn, they are much nicer for sure. But the last several elk our group have taken have been 703, 713, 816, 710, 840, 860, 873, 963, 1002.......so I prefer to use my .338 for them, and they are also quite a ways up in the back country, so light weight helps, so a brake is the best option in this unique circumstance of a light rifle in a large caliber ha ha

Not a question at all...30 Sherman!

I'm extremely new to reloading and even newer to Sherman cartridges, but what I have seen has impressed me. Just so I understand this correctly, you can take a 300 PRC cartridge straight from the box, throw it in your 30 Sherman, let it fly, and then you have a 30 Sherman case?

I just received my 30 Sherman this week. To me it was worth it.
