Kimber Hunter

I have one in 280 AI that I have been messing around with. I haven't quite gotten that 1 moa with handloads but I have some hammers loaded up to try out. Definitely a light rifle which makes it challenging for my self to hold steady even with sand bags.

My plan was to put a heavy Swar Z8 on top. But I need an accurate rifle. I'm tired of dealing with non-shooters.

some shoot better than others. Of the 280's i have one that is a dream the others is a pain in my rear. i was going to re-barrel it but the smith quit doing that work, so i need a new guy.

Any other Kimber Hunters out there? It's about 1 lb lighter than a Tikka.

Yes, I have a Kimber Hunter >>> https://www.longrangehunting.com/threads/30-gibbs-is-finally-ready.242088/! Are you saying your Kimber is not accurate? Factory ammo vs handloads? What have you done with the rifle? Is kinda hard to try to help if the problem is not clearly defined.

I do not own a Kimber Hunter. At least not yet... and yours isn't a good example of accuracy, because you don't have a factory barrel. Not to mention, I'm a boxed ammo guy.

The barrel is a factory barrel, I just had it rechambered from .30-06 to .30 Gibbs and had threaded for a muzzle brake. All rifles (custom or factory) have the potential to be accurate (of course the opposite is also true) and just like reloading you need to find factory ammo that your rifle shoots well.

You said you are tired of dealing with non-shooters but you never told us what have you done with them or if you reload until now. As much as we like to help, it is hard if we do not fully know the actual problem is. I have responded to your query and what you do with the information provided is entirely up to you. Good luck!

I would suggest to step up to the Montana line. Yes it is more costly but still a GREAT value. On the Hunter line, I can't get past the plastic stock and the clip is square and has poor ergonomics to me. Plus I dislike clips so thats another no go for me. Or get a Hunter and restock with something carbon/graphite but thats the Montana all over again...
