What's needed to convert a 6.5 Creed to a .223?

I agree, With many police Departments using the 223 Rem., There is a lot of once fired brass floating around. Most police departments use factory ammo, No crimp on the primer. Using around 22 to 25 grs of powder (275+ loads per pound of powder). Cheap powder price per shot for practice.

I bought a 223 Rem. Varmit Barrel 700 Rem. on sale 3 or 4 years ago, A special sale rifle at Cabela's. Had a TUPPERWARE stock.
It now has a H&S Precision Stock with aluminum bedding block. 6 X 18 Leopold Scope. An old generation Remington trigger. Is cheap and fun to shoot .
Shoots 1" at 200 Meters groups if I do my part and wind is calm.

Be aware by the time you finish with a PTG bolt you will have 300 in it. Then 300 to 350 for a barrel. For the same price you could get into a remington varmint.

That logic just doesn't seem to apply this year. In my experience, the .223 and 5.56 were the first to disappear and become unattainable in factory ammunition this year. The .223 spot on the shelves have been bare all summer. Then everyone raised the price when a few boxes became available. On a normal year the NATO rounds are very practical.
