Fire starting material

I like Darrell Holland's system, fire starters and tinder kits. + Darrel Holland is a LRH guy.
There's probably cheaper ways to go on the tinder for lighting the backyard or occasional campfire, but when it counts you need something that works.

What do most people use for emergency fire starter material? I have modified the cotton ball method a little bit. Go to a beauty shop and they have cotton in long strands. Smart that full of Vaseline and you can wrap around sticks seems to work pretty good.
A small package of Fritos is some of the best tinder around...not kidding...works in the rain! Also, a 9V battery and a small wad of steel wool...works like a champ. I've also mixed lint, pine needles, etc in wax molded in an egg carton, the large flint from the pilot survival kits, and some of the other things mentioned so far. All good.

My fire kit is dryer lint and charcoal starter blocks (Kamado Joe wax/oil/pressboard squares). Works like a champ and I can cut smaller slices off the starter block to portion it out longer. Dryer lint goes into a ziploc, then that ziploc goes into another ziploc with lighter and ferro rod, and then everything goes into a ditty bag with other misc necessary things (water filter, figure 9's, etc)

Just pour melted paraffin or old candles onto the paper egg carton. Don't need to fill the little cup becausse the stuff soaks in nicely.

The cut to convenient sizes.

I use them every winter for our wood stove.

WetFire, hands down.

I've taught survival and navigation for a local Sheriffs dept Search and Rescue team here in Western Oregon.
WetFire has outperformed everything we've tested. It's usually wet here during our busiest season so whatever we promote needs to work when the element are at their worst
This stuff is light, durable and can be ignited with a single spark.
As a recurring demo , I used to light a small pile of bark shavings on a snow bank in windy conditions with near frozen hands.
