7.62x39 bolt and single shot rifle recommendations.

Another vote for the cz. The ruger American wouldn't be a bad option either, but the cz mini Mauser action is so classy!

Anyone want to jump in here with a bolt or single shot 7.52x39 Rifle on a review of their own gun ? I know a long shot with this caliber Thanks. Marty
Many years ago, I build a bolt rifle on a small ring mauser action. Pushing 130 speer hollow points out of a 22" barrel it will average 2300 fps and 1/2 moa. Great for hunting deer with out to about 150 yards.

From Bullberry regarding 7.62x39 in it's Contender barrels,
** Custom barrels chambered in 7.62 x 39 will be built on a true .308" groove barrel. This does not allow for use of ANY re-manufactured or factory-built ammunition regardless of bullet diameter used. These products are commonly made for traditional military chambers with larger bore sizes or have been fired in oversized chambers and may cause damage to your firearm when used in our barrels. Our 7.62 x 39 barrels are intended to be handload-only.

I have a Howa Mini in 6.5 Grendel and just love it. It shoots like a lazer beam and I'm sure the 7.62x39 version would do the same.

If they try to confiscate AR style rifles, your ammo could could be worth a mint. Lots of fellas out there that won't go that route willingly. Of course once they defund the police, who will be doing the confiscating?? Questions to ponder.

I don't reload , 61 living in apartment and retiring soon. Just to old to get started On reloading. so if I have barrel made it will have to shoot the Wolf 124 grhp because I have 4000 rounds. Barrel maker would have to try to make a barrel around that ammo for me on contender. I was leaning towards the Ruger American bolt 7.63x39 but I have talked to some owners and it was hit or miss with their guns shooting a 1.2 inch 100 yard groups. Some guns Shoot 3 inch groups at 100 yards , which I sure don't want. Leaning towards the CZ bolt butt it looks like a extra $150.00 for the gun. Thanks for the info. MD

OK, I had a well intended comments but with an iPad and an opportunity I've graduated to an idiot. Sorry for the extra attempts at posting.
I have a Howa 1500 Mini in 7.62x39 glass bedded in a Boyd's stock. It is joyfully accurate, about 1/2" moa within the limits of the cartridge. It's not particularly fussy about ammo brands and shoots the steel case stuff just about as well as the brass cased American standards. The factory trigger is very good and about the only negative I know is reviewers say be careful not to lose the magazine in the field due to the location of the mag release lever. So, I keep that in mind and I bought extra magazines. It's also a great "break-in" rifle for youngins and women, as it's fun to shoot and has "zero" recoil for a .30 caliber bore.

I have a custom 7.62x39 built off a 96 Mauser shoots 1/2" at 100 with 110 varmageddon and H322. Those are clocking in an avg of 2304 FPS out of a 20" bbl. I love this little rifle. I Put a 3-15 FFP and it's a blast taking it out to 500 on steel. Makes for good practice. I have a single feed sub load with 90gr xtp and green dot that is stupid quiet with the can and pretty accurate out to 50 yds

I know the thread is 3yo, but just to comment on my experience with the 2
7.62x39's I have.
Built an AR, shoots the Tula steel case stuff 1/2".
The N.E.F. single shot shoots a ragged hole now, 2 1/2" was the best I could get,
before I found out it has a .308 bore and not the .310 as I thought.
Have many NEF singles they all shoot VERY well. Only one I've ever had that didn't shoot was the .270 one I had, it was ridiculous 4"@100, no matter what I did.
