Glue for pillars?

Use an epoxy bedding agent, there are quite a few, Devcon, acraglas, JB weld.
They all work.
Id have to say though if your going to do pillars Id be do looking at doing the action at the same time!

A study I read on Accurate Shooter showed after 1 year Marine Tex has less shrinkage than Devcon

I use Devcon 10110 steel bed, it doesn't shrink, go soft or crush over time.

I think it is also the easiest to use, even more so than Acraglass Gel.

Cheers.

It states the shrink rate on the technical data sheet for Devcon. I like Marine Tex for the smaller containers.

I used JB Weld of the set of pillars I glued in about ten years ago. It was a laminated wood stock and just last year I glass bedded the whole action with Miles Gilbert bedding kit. Makes for a very stable platform.

AcraGlass Gel or Devon 10110 are my top choices, Devcon is the most forgiving as fare as getting the mixing ratio right. MarineTex is real finicky about the mixing ratio, I have seen guys not get it right and it not cure all the way.
