Which 300?

Proof Carbon, 20-22", 30 Cal. 8 twist. Sendero or Sendero Light TBD.
Likely a Proof Carbon stock with BDL BM.
Timney CE 2-stage trigger
Optics to be determined but likely some NF flavor
Muzzle break or likely Thunderbeast 30 Ultra

Thinking 300 WM, 300 PRC or 30 Nosler. I don't have experience with any of them.

Any pitfalls, issues, problematic/perceived or real I might miss? Throw in any additional info, if you wish.

3 things jumped out at me from your build criteria. First, the shorter barrel may be better served by a 300wsm. Second, the Sendero lite may not be the best choice for the 300 magnums your're considering. Alamo Precision in Texas hesitates and steers their customers away from the lite when building larger magnums. That contour has proven to be more finicky than the regular full Sendero Contour with the larger cartridges. Third, take a look at the brass manufacturers for each cartridge. Availability and price may eliminate or steer your decision. All three of your choices are very similar and you probably can't go wrong.

As elk said, 30 Sherman Mag has ADG brass available. 30 Nosler has Peterson brass which is a big seller to me. Not sure I like the 300 WSM option and I have one. Great round, but only Win brass for now.

300 Sherman is a lot like 300 WSM, but better brass (280 ai Peterson) and the mag holds more. Ballistics are similar.

1. I believe in compromises when it comes to custom builds and i believe you should also.
2. Your choice of caliber should be reflective of the short barrel length you are limited to, in other words choose a cartridge with smaller powder capacities, one of the short magnums Win or Rem come to mind.
3. Stay as much as possible to factory chamberings since anything else might put you in a situation where you cannot find components in the future.
4. Do not build a rifle with the intention of using only one type or brand of bullet. Choose the the contour and twist with some flexibility. Fast twist short barrel does not compute, LR bullets need runway.
5. If you are building a light rifle go light all the way, no need for a floorplate assembly, go ADL style.
6. Forget NF scopes they weigh a ton, Leupold, Swarovski, Zeiss have lighter options. (S&B is my go to but heavy)
7. CG extreme for two stage triggers. Great product and great service, been doing 2stage for a long time.
8. Brown Precision Kevlar Pounder stock for shape and comfort/fit, I like the open pistol grip and classic lines.
9. Just my .02
