Mauser M18 experience

It is not a $700 rifle....$699 MSRP. :) :) :)
Close enough lol.

Just took it out today along with my Bergara and Mossberg.
Definite shooter but prefer the Bergara with the better barrel taper for multiple shots, for hunting it will be fine. Brought along a chrony to document all and see how they improve once broken in. Both Mauser and Bergara are shooting bughole groups and the mossberg is shooting a shotgun pattern about 1.1 moa

I just ordered a 6.5 PRC one. TOTAL cost TMD will be $525.00 (EVERYTHING).

Chump change for a Sauer by any other name.

Now it's dies and cases.

Have a prc has shot 1/4 moa consistently, and that's with my cheap deer load hdy brass, speer 140 hotcor and h-1000. It has got to 3100fps with 147 eldm more maybe possible but the hornady brass is butter soft.

I'm looking to get a 243 and 7rem mag to have around. The boots have some zip but a good range day or 5 minutes and some fine paper fit that. They need a bit of a push before tuning the bolt, I don't even notice it but. There a proven rifle for the most part since the Sauer 100 has been out for a while.

there's many things I like, and a few of change but other than a full custom all guns have things I'd change.

one thing is the rifle gets judged quick most without ever seeing one, to many say it doesn't have all the 98 features, and it must suck. It is it's own model and should be seen that way. Coming from a big mauser and crf fan.

I hope they expand the 18 more here, there's a few different ones in Europe now, even some good old cartridges I'd like to see here.

I like the rifle so far, about 60 rounds downrange so far. Got a couple savage's in for some customers today and they compared it to my Mauser and one decided to order a M18 in .243.

I have been thinking to try one in 7mm Rem Mag....for less then $400 it's nicer then the savage and ruger americans that cost more. Hope it doesn't come off as an ad, I'm not getting anything out of it just a nice rifle for the price. Reminds me of Tikka before they got expensive.

Ya think I'll get the 7rm one day there should be just enough mag room for the weight bullets the twist can use. I'm tacking down a remington build I did and may get a 6cm barrel to put on, if not I'll get a 243 m18. I like to think of them as a remington and Browning with tikka mixed in.
