What cartridge?

So I am looking for recommendations from you guys. I have considered 300 PRC, 28 Nosler, 7mm WSM, etc.. I think the .277-.284 caliber cartridges probably fit the bill but don't hear too much about the .277's anymore. And the 28 Nosler sounds like it has horrible barrel life.

For "me", the best part of building a custom rifle (esp. on a full custom) is figuring out yourself (research), what you think is best for your personal preference and intended purpose, NOT what others think what you should build, but that's just "me." This is the reason why "I" never ask what rifle to build or buy. Good luck!
 
I think you need the 27 nosler....
New hammer bullets.....
I have a couple 65284...and a 26nosler..no brake needed...i think it takes 13 or 14 moa to hit at 1000yd.....and it's only shooting at 3200fps....140acc....lots of moa left on that scope to play with out a long ways.....
I doubt you would need a brake on the 27....
 
A 7mm rm is never a bad choice. Lots of factory ammo. Good choice of bullets. Plenty capable of taking any of the game you are interested in. Even at fair distances. But with a good brake I wouldn't expect any of the 28 or 30 calibers to deal out any punishment. If you get one light enough it might kick some. Good luck with selection and have a blast.

I'm looking for recommendations to research. Not going to pick one just because someone recommended it. There's just a lot to choose from and need a little help narrowing it down as well as hearing what people have to say about their recommendations. Barrel life, brass availability, etc.. Thanks to some posts I've been doing a lot of reading up on 280 AI, 7 SAUM, 7mm WSM. Leaning towards the 7 SAUM. Not really interested in the 300wm or 7rm.
